A series about perspective. A combination of surrealism, realism and line drawing. Through the use of several facial features the artwork aims to sends a message to the viewer to look deeper and not take things at face value.

With an intensified contrast and tonal range the artwork realistically depicts great grandma, Nanna Joyce who is approaching her 100th birthday in September 2020. The work explores creating depth and form through the details and wrinkles created by almost 100 years of life.
Self portrait, Oil on Acetate, 30cm X 40cm, 2018,

'Self portrait' is painted on a transparent background layered onto mirror to create a reflection of the viewer when looking at the artwork. The use of mirror takes away the traditional idea of the viewer being separate to the artwork and prompts the viewer to consider how they relate to and could be part of the artwork.

'The spirit on enquiry' features repetition of eyes in order to create impact and emphasise the messages communicated in the artwork. The artwork represents on one hand taking things as they are and being content in doing the same things as opposed to exploring things further, learning, growing and asking.
