Capsule Collection, 2021

Hidden explores the lack of representation in fashion experienced by people with chronic medical conditions. More specifically the lack of design consideration seen in diabetes supply bags in relation to their aesthetics and durability of fabrications and notions. I have drawn inspiration from insulin pump infusion set tubing to create a textured surface resembling both the tubing and veins in order to communicate the relationship between medical technology and the body. The garments feature design lines informed by the shapes of essential diabetes supplies such as blood glucose testing meters, test strips and lancets along with their cases.
